Impossible Grails #14 features one of the most iconic Eeveelution cards ever released, the very first English Language Espeon graded a 10 by TAG. We have been huge fans of TAG Grading ever since they burst onto the scene a few years ago. Unlike other grading companies like PSA or Beckett, who grade cards heavily based on human opinion, TAG uses photometric stereoscopic imaging paired with AI to analyze the card for the most consistent grading in the entire industry. Throughout the several years involved in trading cards, I have seen a lot of questionable PSA 10’s. There are many inconsistencies with these grading companies simply because the human element. I have seen YouTube videos where the same card was submitted to PSA three different times and achieved three different grades. The price difference between a PSA 9 or 10 can be over 1000% and entirely comes down to the person who graded the card. Many nines look like tens and I have seen plenty of tens that would definitely not grade a 10 if they were resubmitted. TAG grades cards based on metrics like measuring the centering to the hundredth of a millimeter, checking the edges and surfaces for flaws that would not even appear to the naked eye and has the technology to recognize when a card has been altered. Because of these reasons, it’s incredibly difficult to get a 10 grade with TAG. I personally compared this 1st Edition Espeon with a PSA 10 that we have here and the TAG 10 is a significantly better example. I’m extremely impressed with the quality of this card and I believe it is better than 90% of the PSA 10 WOTC Holos I have encountered over the past few years.
